Interview With Paper Fury

Hey! I had the chance to interview Cait from Paper Fury which by the way is an awesome blog!

Cait is a blogger, writer, and avid fan of chocolate. She eats YA books as fast as possible and then blogs wildly about them. Fangirl is her middle name. She writes creepy books about sad characters with cake deficiencies. She lives in Australia. Find her on her website Paper Fury or on Twitter.

1: What has been your biggest passion in life?

Definitely BOOKS. I write them, I read them, I basically eat them except, which is hardcore considering the dangers of paper cuts. I never ever stop thinking about books.

2: What's your goals in life for the future?
Well, I've considered a lot of career options. Evil overlord really appeals (I would like many minions and perhaps own a island and have a small planet named after me). I also envision myself owning a library with shelves to the ceiling and ladders. Definitely ladders. Oh. I would also like to be a bestselling author. But I can still have island and minions, right?!

3: What's your hobbies?
Besides reading? I fold origami! Aaaand, that's about it.

4: What do you love most of where you live and what's your advice for those that might visit?
I'm Australian and I love everything about my country. It's clearly the best place in the world (because I live in it of course) and we get Marvel movies a whole day before America does. (GO US.) If you're visiting Australia here are some things to keep in mind:
a) Drop-Bears are real.
b) Eating Vegemite is mandatory. In fact, it's so mandatory, that you can't even get into our country without trying some.
c) The wildlife won't kill you. Ha ha! Nope. But, to be safe, don't...touch anything.
d) Australians are very very laid back and enjoy making fun of everything and everyone. Seriously don't believe anything we say. Are you believing me? DON'T BELIEVE ME.

5: Pie or cake?
This is a cruel, cruel question. I love apple pie more than I can even explain, buuuut, Brownie Cheesecake is my life.

PART 2

1: What made you want to write?
I have a very embarrassing origin story. Are you ready for this? (It's shameful, really.) When I was 12 and my little sister was 7, she decided to become an "author". She got SO much attention from making up little books and stapling them together that I, too, had to get in on the action.

9 years later, I'm still writing. Although now, I promise! It's not for the attention! (Okay, it totally is, but it's different, okay?!) I have so many ideas! And characters run riot in my head! And there's no limit to imagination! I find writing intoxicating in its freeness of raw creativity and I can't stop.

2: What music helps with the creative process and do you prefer certain bands/singers?
I don't listen to music when I write! Silence is bliss, my friends.

3: What books or authors have given you that spark to continue writing?
Oh, oh, there are so many. I promise I won't list them all, but these are my top my influential authors:
Suzanne Collins: Her books got me into YA (which is my niche) and her sparse, brutal style is a big influence for me.
Maggie Stiefvater: I absolutely LOVE her word imagery. She's can paint an entire world with a few gorgeously placed words and her characters are simply to die for. OH GOSH. She is my author-hero.
Sarah J Maas: I used to think "epic fantasy" could only be written in a Tolkien style, but SJM showed it can be quirky and snappy and sarcastic. This has changed my view on fantasy forever.

4: What do you more of then others (Horror, Fiction,Etc)
I like to dabble in ALL the genres. I can't decide! My first-love is epic fantasy, but I do love some creepy paranormal or a fairy tale retelling or action-and-disaster apocalypse.

5: Do you have a favorite quote for writing?

"Read - and be curious. And if somebody says to you: 'Things are this way. You can't change it.' -- don't believe a word." (Cornelia Funke)

I adore this quote because I think an excellent book is one that shakes up and challenges the world.

New Blog Design

Hey! I've been thinking about this for awhile and I'm redesigning this blog! I would like to know if any of you know anyone who designs blogger blogs for free because I'm broke and underage to get a job, curse you child labor laws! Anyway just tell me in the comments and I would be so happy! How about we make it a contest, the person who tells me about the designer and whoever designs my blog I'll post your button on my new blog!
